The 2025 Toyota Highlander is the latest in 25 years of the trailblazing SUV's production.

Toyota is celebrating the model with a unique Limited 25th Anniversary Edition. It has some stylish features like 20-inch alloy wheels, 25th Edition logos, and a distinctive style inside and out.

Highlights of the 2025 Toyota Highlander 25th Limited Edition

The 25th Limited Edition of the 2025 Toyota Highlander features several unique highlights, including a portobello-colored leather interior, a JBL premium audio system, and a panoramic view monitor. The 25th Edition offers seating for up to seven people and will be available in either Stunning Heavy Metal or Wind Chill Pearl exterior paint colors. The Toyota Highlander has been the number one midsize SUV for eight years running.

25 Years of Cutting-Edge History

Toyota revealed the Highlander SUV in April 2000 for release as a 2001 model. It was the automaker's first midsize SUV built on a car platform, the Toyota Camry. The Toyota Highlander created a new era for the segment by helping to establish the midsize crossover. Now, families could benefit from an SUV with car-like handling and tons of interior space. The Highlander quickly made waves and sold over a million units in the first seven years of production.

Premium Touches Make the 25th Limited Edition Stand Out

A number of premium touches make the 25th Limited Edition Highlander stand out from the rest. It starts with 20-inch wheels, gleaming silver accents on the bumpers, and two unique exterior colors. The Heavy Metal color has never been offered on the Highlander before. Interior accents include illuminated door sills, a rear cargo liner, and a rear liftgate badge with the 25th Edition logo. Only 2,500 units of the Limited Edition Highlander will be produced for the United States market.

2025 Toyota Highlander and 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Lineup Changes

There are some additional lineup changes for the Toyota Highlander, including the HEV models getting standard electronic on-demand AWD. The heavy metal color will also be available in the HEV XLE, Limited, and Platinum models. The XSE 2.4-liter model will add the Cement color to its paint choices. The 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid models will get a Beyond Zero HEV badge on the rear. The new Highlander lineup will start arriving at dealerships in November with a starting price of $39,520.

25 Years Going Strong

Toyota's first foray into the midsize crossover SUV segment can be lauded as a success 25 years later. Not to be left behind, the 2006 Highlander Hybrid was also a first. It was Toyota's first hybrid SUV and only the second Toyota model after the Prius to offer a hybrid powertrain. The 2025 Toyota Highlander offers various models, including five trims for the 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. All models offer several customization options as well.
