New Toyota Tundra TRD Lift Kit Overview
Take Your Excitement to New Heights with the Tundra's 3-Inch TRD Lift Kit
The Toyota Tundra is the truck that keeps setting the bar higher and higher, and we here at Westbury Toyota are pleased to announce that this best-selling pickup truck has done it yet again. Newly available to the Toyota Tundra as a dealer installed option is a Toyota Racing Development (TRD) 3.0-inch lift kit, and it is the only lift kit that has been designed to work with the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) system. This lift kit not only increases the rugged appearance of the Tundra, it also grants a considerable amount of lift and greatly improves its off-roading capabilities. We have gone into greater detail about this kit and what else you can expect from it below.
Putting Safety First
The Tundra’s TRD lift kit is made from components painstakingly engineered to deliver maximum performance and safety. The Bilstein monotube shocks and TRD red coil springs have all been fine-tuned by TRD. The shocks themselves have digressive pistons that will provide low-speed body control in addition to superior stability when traveling at higher speeds. Roush Performance produced the upper control arms that are equipped in the front, and the strength in these components all contribute to safety in addition to enhancing off-road prowess.
“There are many compromises with aftermarket lift kits, some of which can impact the function of vehicle features or safety systems. We have designed this kit to work seamlessly with the Tundra’s standard features, retail all Toyota Safety Sense functionality, maintain similar stock driving dynamics by creating a kit with a high center of gravity and provide a look and feel customers want with a lift.” – Mikhal el Arculli, TRD Principal Engineer.
A Bold, Adventurous Addition
There is a lot going on with this lift kit in terms of parts, including:
- Roush Performance forged upper control arms
- Bilstein front and rear shocks
- Taller front coil springs
- Front stabilizer links
- Front lower knuckles
- Front tie rod sleeves
- Front outer tie rods
- Front bump spots
- Front extended drive shafts
- Rear spring spacers
- Extended brake flex hoses
The kit will give the Tundra an additional 2.6-inch ground clearance and will also increase approach and departure angles. The approach angle sees an increase from 21.0 to 26.0 degrees and the departure angle increases from 24.0 degrees to 25.0 degrees. These improvements give the Tundra some serious off-roading cred, all the while boosting the already hardy appearance of the truck.
The TRD lift kit comes with all the required hardware and can only be installed at a dealer. It’s an option for all 2022 Toyota Tundras, as well as newer iForce and iForce Max 4 x 4 models (with the 5.5 or 6.5-foot bed). The lift kit is unfortunately not compatible with the TRD Pro, TRD Sport, or any Tundra trucks that have the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) or air suspension.
The kit is also backed by the same warranty you will find with all TRD accessories, and this includes a 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty on parts that are installed either prior to or at the same time of the sale. If the kit is purchased after the vehicle itself, the coverage is for 12 months despite mileage from the point at which the accessory was installed on the vehicle, or the remainder of any applicable new vehicle warranty.
Elevating Your Tundra Experience
For anyone itching to do some adventuring off the highways, this TRD lift kit for the Toyota Tundra is a must have accessory. The increases in ground clearance, approach, and departure angles give it an off-roading edge.
