In an effort to expand availability and adventure, the new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser promises to be more affordable than its predecessor. Gone are high-priced tags. Instead, drivers are welcoming a starting price that will hover in the mid-$50,000.
This drop in price reflects Toyota's mission of having the Land Cruiser be more available to drivers. Toyota adds that this renewed accessibility reflects the roots of the Land Cruiser when it was first unveiled in 1958; expanding access to drivers who want to venture into the great outdoors, not limit it.
Experience a Rugged Body Style and Premium Cabin Comforts
At first glance, the 2024 Land Cruiser catches your attention because of its aggressive body style, commanding grill, and overall undeniable appeal. If this new model feels smaller, that’s because it is. Compared to its predecessor, the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser is almost 5 inches narrower and about 1.2 inches shorter in length. The overall body style maintains that boxy appeal and falls in line with competitors including the Jeep Wrangler, Ford Bronco, and Land Rover Defender.
While the boxy body style gives off a very rugged look, you can expect to find the same great luxury features associated with the Land Cruiser’s pricier predecessor. The 2024 Land Cruiser is expected to have a spacious interior that can comfortably seat up to five passengers. Tech and comfort features will include an 8-inch touchscreen that bumps up to a 12.3-inch screen in higher models; fabric seats in base trims that get swapped out for leather in higher models; and connectivity via wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 4G capabilities, OTA updates, and much more.
Toyota’s Legendary Land Cruiser Goes Hybrid
Powering the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser is the automaker's i-Force Max 2.4-liter turbo 4-cylinder hybrid powertrain. This setup delivers 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. Despite being a hybrid variation, the all-new Land Cruiser delivers similar power as its predecessor. The previous model was outfitted with a V8 engine that produced 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque.
This engine is expected to be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel drive system.
