Am I Responsible for the Recall Service?

Toyota would cover the cost of the recall repair. The manufacturer will attempt to notify all affected vehicles by sending notifications to the addresses regarding the recall. Once you have received the notification, it is your responsibility to contact your local dealership to schedule this recall service. If it takes longer than a day for repair, you may be supplied with a rental vehicle until your Toyota is repaired. If you have moved recently and are not sure if your Toyota has a recall, you can search for active recalls based upon your Toyota's VIN number or call a Toyota service center for more information.

 

Can Any Service Center Assist With a Recall?

No. Since recalls covered at the manufacturer's expense, they must be serviced at licensed dealerships. These technicians have been authorized and certified to locate the recall issue and know exactly how to correct it. Because of their commitment to providing you with a safe vehicle, Toyota is guaranteeing its liability with this service. If you attempt to have a recall repaired at another location that is not licensed through the manufacturer, you will be responsible for the cost. These technicians have not gone through the proper training and cannot guarantee your safety and repair quality.
